Turkey HIll Experience

The kids had a BLAST! sorry so late, but we didn't get home until 1, then I had to put all 4 boys to bed and upload all the pics! We spent 3 hours there today and had the place all to ourselves. The kids got to milk cows (well not Ian, he said NO, it bites me!), they played in a ball pit, rode down slides, made a new ice cream flavor, make a commercial (well just the bigger kids), smell and taste different drinks, watch a cute short movie, play interactive games, push lots of buttons, pretend to drive a milk truck, and lots lots more that I'll explain when I see you later today.

The staff was so friendly too and helped us out with all the wee ones. I hope you like the pictures. Ian just kept saying "Cow" Cow Cow

Oh and on a side note, I think the little guy is getting his 2 year old molars? What do you think momma? I'm thinking the stuffy nose is due to it too, he's been biting himself all morning (on the arm) Silly Ian!

Ian passed out on the ride home, we did eat lunch there (I packed) everyone ate well. Ian needs more diapers but get this, as of 1:15 he hadn't peed or pooped in his diaper that you brought him in so I haven't had to change him yet anyways!

Great day, all are down for naps and time for me to relax!

Thursday

It's been a good morning! All the kids ate well for breakfast. Joshua had some cereal and peaches for breakfast and then him and Kobe napped for about an hour and a half then he had 6 oz of formula.

The big kids started playing outside at 7:45 this morning (leading the way was Jocelyn) They were so busy and having so much fun I almost forgot to feed Jocelyn her breakfast. So she had breakfast with her snack at 10!

We did craft time (made sunshines and ladybugs) during babies nap times, swang outside and the kids have been playing Cars, airplanes, and running in and outside of the house all morning. The actually all got caught outside right as it started to down pour and you should have heard their screams and ran in really fast, so inside time now.

Everyone is in good spirits and ate lunch well. Joshua just went down for a nap, Kobe and Landon and Lilly are going to be following shortly. Tristan , Jocelyn, and Bryce have plans to have rest time together in the basement and I'm hoping to be able to sit for a few minutes :-)

Oh the big kids also have been having races down our hill all morning too! I wish I had their energy

Tuesday

Everyone but Jocelyn had a muffin (she asked what a muffin is and I said it's like a cupcake without the frosting) well I shouldn't have said that because she looked at me like (duhhh what's the point then?) haha, so she had her waffles. Everyone ate well. The babies both had cereal and fresh peaches pureed *Yum! The loved it and woofed it right on down.

8:30 was our first attempt at naps for babies (Kobe was a success, not so much for baby Joshua) In fact little Joshua didn't go down until after his bottle of 6 oz at 10:30ish but he's now been asleep for over an hour so I'm happy!

The big kids have been busy busy today! I'm proud to say no TV not even for breakfast until after lunch. Now I think they are so exhausted they are finally watching some PBS kids. We talked about apples today, how to spell apples, what letter it starts with, what sound A makes, what colors they are. Then they each made an apple tree (the apples are their finger prints) They did a great job and I didn't help at all!

Then outside we went for the rest of the morning, it's beautiful out there! The ran around and ran and ran and ran. All the big kids are so sweaty and smell like little puppy dogs.

Jocelyn is enjoying dressing up and showing the kids her outfits.

Ian and Lilly are besties today like usual.

I swear Joshua is saying "dadada"?

Kobe is his happy self, very easy peasy and I hope he stays that way today.

Lilly managed to get herself wet outside even though I said not water today because I don't have enough hands to change everyone. Of course after snack she snatched up everyone's water cups and was playing in them (silly girl)

T-30 minutes until rest time! I told Jocelyn and Bryce that their options are A. take a nap, B. play outside, or C. play quietly or watch a movie in the playroom. I have places for everyone else to have alone time and hopefully sleep!

Monday

Great but busy morning! It is sooooo beautiful outside (sorry to rub it in!) Air conditioner is off and windows are open. Everyone is in good spirits today. This morning the babies kicked and played under the baby gym together and then we did some exersaucer time. Of course I had to see Mr. Joshua's skills so we did some tummy time, rolling, practice sitting, and standing. Kobe and Joshua had their cereal with banana (I just made home made in the food processor hope that was ok) The loved it, but gee whiz Joshua is a smiler I had a hard time getting him to open his mouth he just kept smiling at me. Then babies went down for naps around 8:30.

Joshua went right to sleep and didn't make a peep. My baby however fussed and then when he finally fell asleep I went to check on him and WOWZA stinky (no wonder he was fussing) so I had to change his diaper which of course woke him up and of course screwed up his whole morning nap routine. Then at 10:00 Joshua woke up which I thought was early since you said he would sleep really long. Well wouldn't you know he pooped too! Darn poop ruined the morning. So both babies were up most of the morning. Joshua drank his 8 oz at 10:30 (again he was smiley and I had to take him and Kobe in a separate room away from the big kids so they would pay attention and eat.)

Big kids played outside early this morning and made sand art. The McKinley boys joined in as soon as momma left for work. They got so into it, although I don't think they understood the layering and they enjoyed mixing all the colors. We ran out of sand at one point but they were having so much fun I made my own out of sandbox sand and food coloring. Then they ran around outside and played tag and on the swing set for a good while. They had a snack at 10:00 and lunch was at 11:30. Everyone ate great! Jocelyn shocked me when she actually ate her breakfast today, I wasn't used to seeing her with an empty plate.

Lunch was chicken nuggets, tator tots, yogurt drinks, grapes and strawberries and juice and oreos for dessert. Jocelyn says she loves my lemonade and tator tots. She is having a very good morning and seems to be loving being the only girl here today (she keeps changing who her boyfriend is, it's so funny)

The big kids played in the basement while I got lunches ready and babies fed. To entertain the babies I had them each in an exersaucer while I danced and sang to music while cooking (I'm sure it was a sight, but they enjoyed it)

After lunch I attempted to put Kobe to bed for the 5th time and finally it worked!!! Then I tried Joshua because he was getting cranky and he wanted nothing to do with it (screamed!) So I snuggled him and actually he was sitting on my lap while I typed and seemed in a trance so I laid him beside me on the couch and he passed out (so I just laid him down upstairs for nap #2)

Now the babies are both asleep and the big kids are watching Rio the movie. I will soon be putting my 2 big boys up for naps and the 3 other kiddos can play and rest down with me.

Thursday

Such a better day today than Tuesday! Don't know if it's the kids or my attitude but I love it! We did school time downstairs today and learned about rain and why it rains especially why it rains in the rainforest. I asked the kids what they know about rain and Bryce and Tristan gave great explanations like how it is wet and falls from clouds and feels cold.

I also asked them what they do when it rains:
Tristan: Get out an umbrella
Bryce: Scream and run around
Lilly: Inside
Landon: well we go up and down, and then it falls, and then um I don't know (haha)
Ian: No comment

We made 2 crafts involving water and rain drops

Then we had snack outside and played for about an hour. Of course Miss Lilly and Mr. Ian found water and got soaked, but hey they had fun.

We came inside and had lunch and everyone ate great. The kids are being so good I'm letting them stay up until 1 before quiet time.

Tuesday

Sorry so late! I just got everyone down for naps. It's been a good day (well kind of) I'm in a grumpy mood and my 2 older boys have been driving me nuts but other than that it's been good. The Vogt kiddos have been pretty easy. I got out boxes today and that was their big adventure. They played in them and then painted them! We were outside for most of the morning (well in between punishing my boys)

Poor Kobe is still trying to get those darn teeth through so he hasn't been happy either. Everyone ate well, Lilly is still upstairs singing to herself (all the single lady's, happy birthday, the itsy bitsy spider, oh and now if your happy and you know it) she cracks me up!
