monday

Breakfast: whole wheat waffle with cin. and sugar and banana and milk (all ate well, even Landon!)
Lunch: eggs with cheese, fresh peaches, yogurt, milk, cookie for dessert (all ate pretty well, Paige didn't drink much of her milk though)
Hayden is doing a super job in big boy underpants today (only 1 tiny accident because he forgot he had a diaper on) he peed 2 times and pooped 1 time and seemed to enjoy being in big kid pants. I'm pretty sure this is it, no more diapers for him here except naps. He will have bad days, but I really think consistancy works the best (and the motivation that he hates when his pants are wet/dirty.)
Hayden, Paige and Landon have a river flowing out their noses (heads up Crystal and Alicia, major cold going around, sorry Landon caught it from the germy doc. office!)
Thomas had a great morning, 3 huge poops this Am!!! What did he eat over the weekend? haha
Outside for an hour today (so beautiful outside) all kiddos enjoyed the nice weather
School time:
Weather, day of week/month (we are becoming experts at this!)
We did hands on #3. The kids traced it with their fingers and then we went around the room with a bucket and put in 3 items at a time (3 balls) (3 tools) (3 books) etc. All kids participated very well.
We then colored our page #3 in our journals and made 3 spots for our jaguars
Next it was time to play with our jaguar craft! We talked about the sound jaguars make and how they live in dens. We made a den with a blanket on top of the table and pretended to be jaguars (so funny) The kids used their jaguars to hide under the table.
We tried unsuccessfully to sort small/big red/green circles and count them to 3. The little ones just wanted to put them in their mouth so it was put away fast!
Hayden and Bryce played a memory game with rainforest animals and had a lot of fun. The little ones each got a pair of animals to hold while they played.
We finished off with singing our 3 songs.
Great morning, all are asleep (except Bryce) Paige loved her new toothbrush today :-) I think Thomas could use a few shirts here. Hayden needs some more underpants.

Thursday

Breakfast: fiber one poptart with milk and grapes (for some reason no one wanted to eat much so they all ended up eating their breakfast in my car when we took Bryce to school.
Lunch: spagetties, cheese, watermellon, pb crackers (all ate very well)
Hayden and Tristan and Bryce all did a poop and pee together on potties after lunch (and got 3 jelly beans) or jelly jeans as Hayden says,
Tristan peed on potty this morning
All the kids loved going for a little drive (and it's very little, like 2 minutes) Tristan was sad to see bryce go to school.
During his absence we played, had school time, and went outside (it was weirdly peaceful!!!!) although it was funny to see Hayden be the oldest (he started getting more pushy as time went on with the little ones)
The kids did the weather, day of week, month (Tristan and hayden did a good job!)
We sang out songs (they love that bug song!) danced.
Then we did the sign for alligator and pretended to be alligators,
We then read our book of the month "the rainforest"
Finished off by making our craft jaquires (which we will use next week)

wednesday

What a crazy morning! We were a little off schedule today due to Landon's ailment! When he woke up barking like a seal I knew he had to go back into the docs. So I packed up all 5 kids and met kyle in at springdale pediatric. The kids LOVED the car ride (I had an elmo video playing) and gave them all snacks and water when we got to the office (I didn't take them in I just gave Landon to Kyle and left with the rest of the bunch) Landon has croup (some type of virus that affects the voice/throat) so if any of your little ones start barking take them to the doc for some steriods (that's what Landon got) I have no idea how contagious it is??
So we haven't gone outside yet today :-( really hoping the rain stays away until tonight so we can go out after nap time.
Breakfast: choc chip pancakes (Thomas had 2!!!) and grapes all ate well (not Landon)
Lunch: Whole grain mac n cheese, yogurt, watermellon (thanks crystalann :-) Thomas and Paige didn't eat very well (but drank their milk) Thomas introduced me to his new game of throw my food all over the floor. I'm guessing they just ate a lot for breakfast and with snack (which they never have in the am) they just weren't hungry yet.
School: When we got home from the doc's we went downstairs.
We began with looking at the weather (Hayden said "It's cloudy Ashy!" Then did the date, and day of week.
We talked about the letter A and the sounds it makes and some words that start with A (like alligator) I had the little ones tap on the table when we said A goes "A" they liked that
We then pretended to be alligators and learned the sign language for alligator and I showed them how tongs look like an alligators mouth and said "open" and "shut" and we practiced that for a while.
We then talked about jaquires, what they look like, where they live (in the rainforest) We started a craft (didn't finish it today) but all the kids did finger paint
Finished with our songs and heard a new song, The Jaquire song
Hayden pooped and peed on potty after lunch (I got a little more firm with him today, he didn't like it but he went) Paige learned how to take off her diaper, I'm having a tough time keeping it on her today!!! (haha)
Thomas is in good spirits today, didn't even fall asleep in car, because Bryce kept making him laugh!!!
have a good day!

tuesday

The kiddos had a good morning considering the long and busy weekends with family.
Breakfast: toast with jelly and cream cheese, banana, and milk
Lunch: periogies, organic yogurt, watermellon, pb crackers, milk (I'm pretty sure Paige asked for a cookie, haha)
School:
We talked about the weather (cloudy) and how the weather was over the weekend. Wendy our weather girl helped the kids say words like cloudy, tuesday, September. We counted up to today on our calendar and Hayden and Bryce knew that 8 came after 7 for today. Bryce also picked up on the patern on the calendar.
Next we talked about vines and how they are found in the rain forest (went over south america on our map). We then pretended a long green rope was a vine and the kids played with directions "up" down "side to side" They had a lot of fun
Then we had more spanish word review (today I just stuck to 5 animals found in the rain forest) Monkey, snake, parrot, frog, and butterfly. When I said the spanish word we pretended to be that animal.
Then all the kiddos sat at the table and I gave them a green ball. I asked them to do silly things, like "put the green ball on your head" put the green ball on your belly, etc. You could tell the little ones were really looking at the big kids and "getting it" we will do this again.
Then the older kids played with circle manipulatives. They identified the shape, color, counted them and then sorted them big and small. Later all the kids used crayons to make circles on their papers (Bryce and Hayden did some by themselves!!)
We finished with music time (my favorite!!!!) We practiced our rainforest and bug songs. They are so cute at music time, Kyle said he will try to burn copies of our cd so you can play them at home for the kids, the hand motions are so cute (although most of the little ones just do their own dance and clap along)
Went outside afterward for about an hour
All kids ate well today. Paige has some major diaper rash and pooped 3 times today, I covered her rear in cream and powder before nap (probably just teeth). She is repeating everything!! Thomas pooped 2 times this morning. He did well but was definately ready to nap by 12. He is doing a great job with playing and keeping busy.
Hayden did excellent during school time, but had a mini melt down when we went outside (not sure why, he was very clingy and was having his booger issues, seemed to snap out of it when he got some food in his belly). He peed on potty and got a jelly bean and was very happy about it!
Kyle, Landon still has his rash/bumps on his leg today so still planning to take to the docs tonight at 8. Bryce had a very good day!!! Did wonderful in school time and little to no tantrums. He pooped on the big potty today too!
Shana: just a reminder Hayden could use a new toothbrush and Paige would probably love to play with one too after meals. (love her new diapers, Target brand are soo cute!)

thursday

Good day!
Breakfast: cinnamon and sugar pancakes with nectarine (all ate good)
Lunch: mac n cheese, grapes, org. yogurt, nilla wafers (thanks shana for grapes and wafers!) All ate well (especially hayden, Tristan ate tons of grapes not too much of other stuff)
Tristan was our meal clown today. He tried anything to make the kids laugh (burped real loud and said "I Burped!!" and laughed hystarically, it was hard not to smile but I told him to say excuse me.
Tristan peed and pood on potty 2 times and Hayden pooped 1 time on Potty YEAHHHHHHH!!! I made a song up that they like its called "WE poop with our friends"
Outside for a good bit this morning, boys played nicely for most part and Bryce and Tristan actually kicked a ball back and forth for over 5 minutes!
School:
We did the weather "sunny" and day/month. The kids are really loving to volunteer and put items up on the posters (actually having some fights over it)
We read a story "all about A" together (each kiddo got their very own book and they did a great job of turning the page when it was time (see picture)
Then they found animals in the book that start with A (aligators) and colored them
We practiced our finger play (they love it, it's the poem on their lilly pads from tues, you should do it with them)
Next we had our spanish lesson. We talked about different animals we find in the rain forest and their spanish name. Ex: Monkey is Mono so then we pretended to be Mono's (will be coming back to this again!
Then we did an aligator craft with mac and glue (so much fun!) They did well putting the mac on their picture (landon and Paige too!) of course they ate some mac in the process.
We finished off with our rainforest song and bug song (by this time Hayden and Tristan looked exhausted and just sat on the couch and watched Bryce, Landon, Paige and me dance and sing.)
Reminders: Hayden could use a new tooth brush and sissy looks like she would like one too :-)
See everyone next week!

wednesday

Breakfast: fiber poptarts, some blueberry pancakes, banana, milk (everyone ate well
Lunch: baked ziti (homeade!), pb crackers, grapes, milk (everyone but Landon ate excellent all got seconds!)
Good day! We played outside for a while this morning and ran around. (Paige got so dirty from crawling around sorry, she gets mad when I put her in the exersaucer for too long, can't wait till she's walking (if you have some very old/not good pants I can put them on her for just outside and keep them here and wash for you!) Thomas taught himself how to use the tee ball set (actually hit the ball off with the bat)
School: Today we did the weather, the day/month we also made predictions for tomorrow's weather (Bryce thinks it's going to be sunny again! ) I passed around a letter A cut out and all the kids traced it with their fingers (Paige and Thomas loved it when I helped them trace it!) The big boys did it themselves. We then went on an "A" hunt and found things that start with A. Next we learned about vines and did a vine craft with different items that are Green. Babies had fun stamping with their hands down paper on glue. We also talked about bugs and how you can find them on vines (kids stuck bug stickers on their vines. The big boys strung the leaves onto a brown "vine" and did a great job. Later we read our "Rainforest" book of the month. The kids loved looking at the bright pictures and talking about the animals/colors. We closed with singing our "Rainforest song" and learned a new "Bug" song (they are getting quite good at the motions too!)
Thomas was interested in the potty today so I showed him how to sit on it. Paige is talking up a storm. Hayden and Bryce were having some difficulties cooperating today. They both got a pretty big time out (outside) they were not happy with me, finally when they cooled off they both apologized to each other. Hopefully with Bryce's school starting next week, the time away from each other will be good for them.
No reminders, Have a great day!

tuesday

Breakfast: choc chip pancakes, banana, milk (everyone ate very well!)

Lunch: spagetties, organic banilla yogurt, nectarine (all ate well again!!) with milk

Tristan pooped and peed 2 times, I made Hayden sit and he was very upset with me (no success, I guess he just isn't ready)

Played outside for a while, Kids didn't want to come in (they kept wanting to push the little kids on the swing. Lots of running around!

School: Great time!, We learned about frogs and how they live in the Rain forest, we sang and danced to our rainforest song. We hopped like frogs and played a lilly pad counting game. We went on a search for animals and counted them on our rainforest poster. We learned a new finger play and did some finger painting. We colored in our journals (working on A and green)

Paige is talking up a storm, it's amazing what she says, today she sang the actual words (ants go marching!) that's the song I sing by the way for every transition we make throughout the day!

Hayden was wonderful up until 11, he began to melt down (I think he was just tired, so he went down early)

All in bed now!

Tristan does need diapers Alicia (and I did call the nursing home today!)

hope everyone is having a good day!
