breakfast: fiber 1 poptart, banana, milk (all ate well)
lunch: mac n cheese, pudding, apples, graham cracker with pb (Thomas and Paige were not into eating or drinking for lunch today)

I was at Bryce's school today for most of the morning helping with his Halloween party. Kyle stayed home with the kiddos and played. They went downstairs and outside. He said all were well behaved (I'm sure they loved mixing up their routine and having some Uncle Kyle time!) No pics of your kiddos today (I had it with me) although Landon decided he wanted to sit on the potty (first time) so of course I had to take a pic!

wednesday

Breakfast: choc chip pancakes, banana, milk (all ate well Thomas and Paige ate 2 pancakes each)
lunch: periogies, pears, yogurt, milk (Hayden cried through lunch and did not eat, Paige and Landon also didn't eat well.

Sorry this is late, I finally figured out how to upload videos, take a look! yeah!

Rainy, yucky day! Although we got creative to beat the boredom.

We did the weather, calendar, Sang lots of songs, read tons of books, danced.

Each child got a worksheet and they just did an excellent job at coloring it (still have Thomas wanting to eat the crayons but I think that will be gone soon!) Hayden shocked me today because he actually drew on the dotted lines and made a #4 and was able to copy the zig zags!!!!

We even set up a fort (they loved this as you can see on the pics!)

We were a bit grumpy today so lunch and nap were set early for all! Oh sunshine please come out so we can go outside after nap time!

tuesday

Breakfast: fiber poptart, banana, milk (all ate well)

Lunch: pb j on high fiber bread, fresh pears, Mickey Mouse cheese, milk (all ate very well, most cleaned their plates!)
Today is a good day. Everyone seems in good spirits (Hayden was having a rough morning and was little emotional but seemed ok if he was by me away from the other kids)

We took Bryce to school this morning which went smoothly. Then when we came home we did our bat craft. Each child got a rubber ring that they could use to paint with. The older boys got black paint and the little ones got chocolate syrup to paint with. It was a big hit and of course Landon and Thomas enjoyed licking their fingers.

Afterward we went downstairs. We had free play time then read our library Halloween books again. When we were done reading I noticed that once again the kids took the books and "pretended" to read to each other using words that I used when I read it to them.

We sang our songs and danced Tristan and Paige were very into it today! WE did our weather and calendar with stickers and day of week.

Reminders:

Hayden needs pull ups

monday

breakfast: blueberry pancakes, banana, milk (all ate well and Paige and Thomas had 3 pancakes!!!)

Lunch: stuffed shells, yogurt, fresh pear, milk (all ate well except of course the 2 little pancake piggies!!!haha)

Well it's a good day but boy it seems like everyone is sick and is just a little extra sensitive because of it. Thomas, Hayden, and Paige had runny noses all morning. We took it easy with school time basically because I was constantly wiping a nose :-)

The kids played well together today for the most part. We played upstairs for a while then it was time to go downstairs. To my shock all the kids said "it's time to clean up!" and they picked up everything (Hayden and Bryce were cleaning fools!) They even put everything back in the correct place!

Downstairs we did the weather and calendar time with stickers. Then we talked a bit about bats and made bat finger puppets and did a finger play (they all ended up destroying their puppet but had fun while it lasted!)

We sang (well me and Paige) the rest of the crew were off doing their own thing.

Then we sat and read our 4 library books all about Halloween. Hayden fell in love with the Dora book and just kept saying "Ashy I love this book!" he, Bryce and Tristan went off on their own after story time and read the same books to themselves and each other (so cute!)

The rest of the morning we played outside (boy do they love that sand box!) Oh and Thomas mastered climbing up on the slide, sitting down, and going down the slide! He must have went on it a dozen times!

We then ate lunch, watch 1 kids songs dvd's and off to nap time! First time no one (not even Tristan or Thomas didn't make a fuss at all) Now hopefully all 6 will sleep!

Happy Thursday! :-)

Breakfast: fiber poptarts, bananas, apples, milk (all ate well, Hayden was a hungry guy and ate 2 apples!)

Lunch: mac n cheese, pb crackers, grapes, cookie if they at well (Tristan did not eat much and was upset when he did not get a cookie) I held firm but Bryce didn't and "shared his cookie when I wasn't looking" it was nice of him and so cute, because Tristan said "fank you Brycey" and Bryce said "your welcome Tristan"

Ok, so I know they say tv is bad for kids but you have to here this! TV is on in the play room till 8:30. Super Why comes on PSB at 8 and I love this show (it's very educational and interactive) I used to have to fight the kids to keep it on because they wanted to watch disney channel but now they seem to love it too. Well today on part of the show Mr. Pig was saying the alphabet and then would stop mid letter and ask the kids "what letter comes next" All 5 kids got into it and would answer him and they blew me away when they were right!!! Even Paige and Landon would copy what the big boys said. I was very impressed!

We took Bryce to school and then came home and went downstairs to play. We read our books, sang our songs and did the weather. We then talked about Halloween and used stickers for our calendar and then used some more to make a spooky picture. After that I was able to have Hayden make a ghost out of his handprint. The other kiddos weren't interested in holding still any longer.

We went outside the rest of the morning and ran around and got some good exercise.

Everyone is having a much better day today. all went to bed at 12 (although I still here Tristan and Paige talking and playing) fingers crossed they sleep well!

Today I'm trying to teach the bigger boys (hayden and bryce) of how they can redirect the little kids in a nice manner. They get very frustrated when for example they stand in front of the tv. It was cute when Paige started pressing the buttons on the tv and Bryce went up to her and said "no, no sissy" then gently nudged her away. The funny thing was she listened to him better than me :-)

have a good weekend!

grumpy wednesday

I think everyone had a meeting last night and decided to make it a grumpy day!!! haha

Breakfast: whole grain pancakes, banana, milk (all ate well, Paige had 2 huge pancakes!!!)

Lunch: pizza, grapes, yogurt, milk (all ate well except Paige (must have been those pancakes!)

You know it's a rough morning when I have to feed everyone at 10:45 because I'm out of ideas of how to make them happy :-( I'm thinking the moods are from the little to no naps that occurred yesterday. Fingers crossed all get a good nap in today and catch up on their zzzz's

As for the activities, it was tricky and I didn't even get my cool craft in due to the outbreak of grumpies (hoping to do it after nap but we'll see) We will have these days..

Played this morning upstairs. I am working on Bryce and Hayden's clean up skills (they did not appreciate it). The new rule is if you do not help to clean up (and I'm talking a few toys) then you may not go downstairs to play and will have a time out. Let's just say they got a time out and when I went back to discuss things they quickly helped to clean up so they could join the group downstairs.

Downstairs we did the weather and calendar (a new one with new stickers!!!) We read some pumpkin books and did our counting on the farm book (Paige is such a good counter). Oh and Thomas now kisses Wendy our weather girl (so cute!)

We sang songs and danced.

We talked about trees today. What color their leaves are and the bark. We then went outside and looked at the trees. Hayden and Bryce collected some leaves and bark for our craft.

The rest of the morning we played outside in this unusual warm weather! It's always a blessing to go outside and run around.

After lunch they of course watched kidsongs and played (Thomas, Paige, and Landon are really started to try to sing along)

Oh and Kyle the thing Landon started saying yesterday was "All Aboard" when he hears the choo choo outside (I heard Thomas say this too!)

All were in bed by 12 and you know it's time for bed when no one complains!!

Crystal, I have some diapers of yours for you to take home (I didn't know that his drawer downstairs was full of diapers (he'll be stocked for a while) if you need more let me know (sorry)

tuesday

breakfast: fiber 1 poptart, banana, milk (all ate very well
lunch: pb and j on wheat, pudding (vanilla), grapes, milk (all ate again very well!)
Great day, and beautiful weather!!! Everyone is in very good moods (Paige got a dose of motrin for her teeth this am and was as happy as can be afterward.
They all played well before it was time to take Bryce to preschool. When we got home we went downstairs and played. We read books, sang songs, ran around (they love that I put some of the outside play stuff indoors (they played with it more inside then they ever did outside!) We of course did the weather and the calendar events. Kept it simple today since it's so nice outside!!!
Spent a good chunk of the morning outside playing (love it when we can do that!) They played awesome!! Running their trucks up the hills and swinging!!! (Got a new pink swing over the weekend and everyone had to try it out!
Tristan is really speaking well these days (didn't realize that he is saying complete sentences till today!) wow! Paige is walking all over the place. Hayden of course just keeps telling me he loves me :-) Landon is singing along to kidsongs now (so cute!!!) Thomas had a ball playing after lunch (but he also had a blast when I put him to bed, I think he likes the new singing toy I put in his pack n play!!
Bryce had a great day at preschool and told us all he learned about fire safety (maybe we'll practice stop, drop, and roll after naps today!
The older boys (Tristan, Bryce and Hayden) are having a blast playing in Bryce's room as I type. I usually put them to bed at noon but since it's a speech day for Landon I'm keeping them up late in hopes they'll sleep through it. They are playing very well together, first they pretended to be doctors with the doctor kit now they are building a huge train track!!! No nice when they have moments like this :-)
Tristan needs diapers soon I think??? Need to check the basement!

monday

sorry this is a little late (we got a new laptop (well it's used)) and it took me a while to get things working with the pics. good news is that I will get internet access during naptime!!! yeah

breakfast: wheat pancakes, banana, milk (all ate well
lunch: periogies, yogurt, grapes, milk and cookie (pumpkin sugar cookies that bryce made at his grandparents house! All ate well except paige (she was very cranky late morning, wanted to be held from 9:30 on) Nose was running and she looked really tired.

This morning we spent time talking about what we did over the weekend. We read lots of books upstairs and the boys were having a grand time with the fire fighter hats. I try not to have the tv on past 8:30 but at 8:30 dinasour train came on pbs and Thomas went crazy!! He was dancing and pointing and just having a ball! haha

We then went downstairs were we did the weather (sun shine) yeah! and calendar.
We talked about the color of pumpkins orange with green stems. Then we made pumpkin chain links with paper and hung them up. The kids had fun with this project. Hayden and Bryce made the circles and taped them together while the littles ones threw the paper in the air and danced.

We sang our songs and practiced our poems.

We went around the room and found orange objects.
Next each child got a jumping orange spider. We sang itsy bitsy then I showed them how to make them jump. We had spider races.

The rest of the morning I took advantage of the sunshine and we played outside for about an hour and a half! They needed to run after a week of inside play. They helped me to wash off some of the outdoor slides so that I can put them in the basement for the rest of the fall/winter :-( so we can pretend we are outside.

Everyone is having a good day. Hayden had a fussy period where he just cried about anything you can imagine (he had some alone time and afterward perked up!) Thomas is exploring today (in the sandbox big time), Paige seemed like she needed to rest (fell right to sleep). Landon is much better today (had a cold over the weekend)

Thomas will need diapers soon, Paige will need some too.

**Might want to start bringing real play shoes for Paige (like from walmart or target), she is walking really well now and I've noticed that the dew on the grass is soaking through those shoes she has (which I still think are at your house and she wore Thomas's today :-)

thursday

Breakfast: fiber poptarts, bananas, milk (all ate well)
Lunch: mac n cheese, with a mix of peaches and mand. oranges, yogurt, and pb crackers (Bryce and Tristan didn't eat well, everyone else ate great!)
We played this morning and everyone got along very well (no fights)
Took Bryce to preschool with success.
Then we came back home and went downstairs. WE did the weather (first rainy day in a long time) the kids forgot what we need outside when it's raining (umbrellas) We also did the day of month/week (They love sticking stickers on the calendar) If anyone has an extra calendar at home they aren't using or gets a freebie in the mail I'll take it!!
We then sang our songs. Landon is so cute now that he figured out the motions to the bug songs and Paige just yells "bum, bum, bum" haha
Then we talked again about spiders and sang itsy bitsy spider and helped Tristan to make his spider web.
I then used my large counting on the farm book (can't believe I haven't been using it with them) This was awesome!!! We went through all the animals (Paige now knows how a kitty goes) oh and Hayden seriously thought that the horse went moo! We did counting from 1 to 10 on each page. Tristan and Hayden have it down pact!!! Paige can count to 3. Landon spits out a number every now and then.
Since it was a yucky day I blew up the ball pit and they spent the rest of the morning playing with that. I think I'm going to be moving some of the outdoor toys downstairs soon since unfortunately our nice days are going to be few until Spring :-( boooo
Thomas joined us for lunch and had a blast playing with the kiddos afterward. All passed out right away! One of those days where I feel like I could join them!
