It was a good morning. My crew was a bit on the grumpy side and were difficult but I can easily say that the 3 others were in excellent moods and happy as can be. I would have never guessed Alexa had her experience yesterday!
Poop stats: All had 1 big poo this morning!
Breakfast was cereal and fruit for wee ones and waffles with fruit for big boys. Lunch was chicken nuggets, veggie mac n cheese, yogurts, fruit. Everyone ate so well at both meals!
So we started out playing in the play room this morning. Then went outside from 8:45-10. We did shaving cream paintings and color dyed the water . Oliver was LOVING the cream, Alexa shocked me and wasn't impressed at all by it and just splashed in the water. We also of course swang, sang (oh my gosh Alexa knows almost the entire ABC song and it's so cute!), rode bikes.
Came in and had school time (it was a very tricky day with this so I just went with the flow) Kobe had a total melt down and the big boys were acting helpless. We talked about parrots and what colors they are and how they fly and what feathers look and feel like. The kids made parrots. So after our craziness of doing craft time I got them finally all together again and we sang the pretty parrot song and then played "pretty parrot says" game like simon says. They LOVED it and all the babies (even my Kobe) joined in. We pointed to body parts, did silly things like turn in circles, etc. Then I let the kids hold the parrot puppet and give a command for the rest of us to do.
After singing and games we gathered around the table and I read them 3 facts about parrots. I then showed them 3 story cards and we talked about what was happening in the pictures (it was about a baby bird learning to fly) Then we put in order what happened 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I then showed them my #3 card and had them trace the #3 with their fingers and we counted 3 circles. Then we all together wrote a 3 in the sky. After that I showed them the sign for hungry (rubbing your belly) and they all practiced. I told them that before lunch I'll ask them who is hungry and if they want to eat to rub their tummies.
Kids played and watched PBS then while I got lunch ready. We ate and then played a little more. I think they are all exhausted today! Big boys are playing quietly in the rooms upstairs for a little while before I tuck them in and A and K are already passed out! Oliver is sleeping in the pac n play in the basement today (hoping if he cries then he won't wake any sleepy heads up)
